| Pathogen: | Inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s Disease, Ulcerative Colitis). | ||
| Clinical Indications: | Used to monitor the patient’s response to adalimumab (Humira) drug treatment in addition to the patient’s clinical, endoscopic and biomarker evaluation to guide the optimization of treatment. | ||
| Test Includes: | Circulating levels of the drug in serum and if clinically indicated levels of patient produced antibodies targeting the drug. | ||
| Ordering Alert: | Completed and signed Dynacare Next requisition is required and MUST stay with the specimen. Test is restricted to pediatricians, and gastroenterologists with a pre-arranged and approved pharmaceutical company contract. | ||

| Additional Test Information: | Adalimumab drug levels and antibodies are tested using a stepwise, reflex procedure. Adalimumab drug levels are tested initially and reported. The assay for anti-adalimumb antibodies will only be run and reported when the trough Adalimumab level is below the methodological limits of the assay. | ||
