IL-12 Pathway (Synonym: CD212, IL12RB1, Mendelian Susceptibility To Mycobacterial Disease, PSTAT4)

Clinical Indications:

IL12Rβ1 (CD212) deficiency/pSTAT4 downregulation results in defective production of IFN-γ and susceptibility to intracellular pathogens including mycobacterial, salmonella and viral infections.

Test Includes:

Expression of IL-12Rbeta1 (CD212) and pSTAT4 on activated lymphocytes are reported.
pSTAT4 is temporarily unavailable.

Ordering Alert:

Please refer to specimen stability and testing schedule. Schedule patient collection time and location accordingly.

Collection Alert:

Collect a normal, preferably age-matched, peripheral blood specimen and transport with patient specimen.

Specimens collected within Alberta must arrive to Calgary on Monday, Tuesday, or Friday. Check courier schedule before collecting. Do not collect on weekends and stat holidays. Specimens outside of Alberta must be collected Monday to Thursday ONLY.
