Additional Test Information: | See information below to determine which test is required then click on a specific link below to access detailed information for specimen type, collection method, transportation, patient criteria etc. Hepatitis C Serology Synonyms: HCV Serology, HCV Antibodies, HCVAB HCV antibody testing is an assessment for exposure to and infection with HCV. Detection of HCV antibody can be due to a chronic or recent infection. For suspected congenital HCV infection, see Congenital Infections Hepatitis C Virus Serology - 3rd Party Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) NAT Synonyms: HCV Viral Load (VL), HCV Quantitative PCR, HCV Quant, HCV Nucleic Acid Test (NAT), HCV RNA, HCV PCR The molecular test is helpful in determining the presence or absence of HCV viraemia. It is performed only if the patient is being assessed for treatment or is on treatment. Hepatitis C Genotype Synonyms: HCV Geno Genotype determination is performed only for known HCV positive patients where genotype is relevant to treatment decisions. Hepatitis C Drug Resistance Testing Testing is for known HCV positive patients, particularly those who have failed a previous HCV therapy containing an NS3, NS5A, or NS5B inhibitor. Drug resistance testing is completed in conjunction with Hepatitis C Molecular Testing | ||
