Specimen Collection Requirements:

EDTA whole blood, sent UNSPUN at ambient temperature. Send urgently to Public Health Lab.
Synovial fluid in sterile container
Aspirate from wound, sample of pus, fluid and/or tissue from lymph nodes or heart valve
Biopsy submitted in a sterile container. At least 1 mL of fluid sample is required. If swab is used, submit in ESwab®.

CSF samples are not indicated for testing as the yield is low
