Specimen Collection Requirements: | Take specimen for culture before topical agents are applied. Swab the inferior tarsal conjunctiva and the fornix of the eye (mucosal surface inside the surface of the eyelid). Carefully place swab in the container without contaminating it. Clearly indicate on requisition which eye (Left or Right) specimen was taken from. | ||
