Test Name/Synonym:	C. difficile Test (Regional) (Synonym: Clostridium difficile, Clostridioides difficile, Cdiff, Stool Toxin, Pseudomembranous colitis, Antibiotic-associated diarrhea, CDT)
Test Includes:	Testing for C. difficile is performed using a rapid membrane enzyme immunoassay (C.diff Quik Chek Complete®) for the simultaneous detection of Clostridium difficile common antigen (glutamate dehydrogenase antigen, GDH) and toxins A/B. Specimens positive for only one of these targets (GDH-only or Toxin A/B-only) are tested by PCR (Xpert® C. difficile/Epi) for confirmation.

Specimen Collection Requirements:	Submit unformed stool (stool that takes shape of the container) Collect the stool specimen in a wide-mouth, sterile container - avoid mixing urine, toilet paper, water, or soap with the sample Fill to ½ to ¾ of the sterile container Do not overfill Ensure lid is tightly sealed and does not leak
