Specimen Collection Requirements: | See von Willebrand Disease 2N (Subtype Normandy), Plasma in the Mayo Clinic Laboratories Test Directory. Collect two 2.7 mL LT BLUE SODIUM CITRATE tubes. Note: Dedicated tubes (do not share) are required for this test. | ||
Stability and Storage: | Store plasma frozen Collected (uncentrifuged) specimens are stable at room temperature for up to 3.5 hours | ||
Processing: | Centrifuge sodium citrate tubes at 2800 RCF for 15 minutes (to obtain platelet poor plasma). Aliquot 1 mL of plasma into 2 aliquot tubes. Freeze plasma aliquots at -20oC before transport. | ||
Transportation: | Transport frozen plasma specimens on dry ice. Specimens must not thaw. | ||
