| Specimen Collection Requirements: |
For samples that can reach the laboratory within 8 hours of collection: For remote areas (when specimen delivery is > 8 hours to Provincial Lab): Collect Monday or Tuesday (to allow shipping of specimens before Wednesday). For NRTIs, NNRTIs, fusion and integrase inhibitors viral load must be >250 copies/mL. For entry inhibitors [CCR5 (V3)] viral load must be >500 copies/mL. | ||
| Test Resources: | Laboratory Program | BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS Tests must be written by hand on ProvLab requisitions. | ||
| Transportation: | Ship on ice or cold pack (NOT FROZEN). Ship according to Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) guidelines. | ||
