SHIPPING REQUIREMENTS
University of Alberta Hosp: Specimen control WMC 4B2.10 on ice.
Grey Nuns Hosp: Page Respiratory to pick up sample from lab.
Misericordia Hosp: Deliver safePICO Syringe at room temperature within 20 minutes of collection to Respiratory.
Royal Alex Hosp & Sturgeon Hosp: Deliver unspun specimen on ice immediately to Respiratory.
Sturgeon Hosp: Deliver unspun specimen on ice immediatley to Core Lab.
All other sites:

Place sample on ice after collection and spin within 4 hours of collection in a refrigerated centrifuge (if available).
Send the original, spun lithium PST tube at refrigerated temperature (4oC) to UAH for analysis.
If a soft draw tube is collected, plasma must be aliquoted with minimal air space into a microtainer and sent to UAH at refrigerated temperature.
