On-site COVID-19 nucleic acid testing (e.g. PCR) testing is available at certain hospital laboratories. Refer to APL Laboratory Bulletins for updated information on availability and indications for on-site testing. | ||||||||||||
Transportation: | Specimens must be shipped to the laboratory within 48 hours after collection. Ship specimens from suspected COVID-19 patients to the laboratory using routine procedures. Ship specimens from confirmed COVID-19 patients to the laboratory as Transportation of Dangerous Goods Category B. See: Transportation of Category A or Category B Infectious Substances | ||||||||||||
