| Specimen Collection Requirements: | Collect adequate sample using a moistened Dacron® swab or cytobrush. Rinse swab/brush as quickly as possible in the ThinPrep® vial by rotating the swab/brush in the solution 10 times while pushing against the ThinPrep® vial wall. Swirl the swab/brush vigorously to further release material. Discard the swab/brush. DO NOT leave swab or brush in vial.
Tighten the cap so the black markings on the cap are past the markings on the vial. Containers must be securely tightened to avoid leakage. Place collected specimen in a sealed biohazard bag. One specimen per bag. Place requisition in outside pouch.
