There is an often-told story about a janitor who worked at the NASA space centre in the 1960s. U.S. President John F. Kennedy was touring the centre, introduced himself to the janitor and asked him what he did at NASA. The janitor replied: āIām helping put a man on the moon.ā
The story resonates with me and there is a direct application to Alberta Health Services. I truly believe every person at AHS is here to care for patients and to keep Albertans healthy. Whether you are a front-line clinician, a behind-the-scenes employee or a volunteer, you are helping to care for Albertans. That is something that should make us all proud.
