Dear staff, physicians and volunteers,

My latest vlog talks about the importance of our AHS volunteers. Volunteers touch so many areas of our work, and in 2016, contributed nearly one million hours of their time to help keep Albertans safe and healthy. I saw this first-hand when I had the opportunity to shadow a volunteer as she and her therapy dog brightened the day of some of our youngest patients at the Stollery Children’s Hospital.

After volunteering, I sat down with Deborah McTaggart-Baird, manager of volunteer resources at Edmonton’s Cross Cancer Institute, to tell us more about the importance of volunteers and the great work they do.
