AHS Values Discussion - General Forum
I feel proud and inspired by Alberta Health Services (AHS) new vision, Healthy Albertans. Healthy Communities. Together. This vision will guide us on where we are going as an organization. And it will take all of us, employees, physicians, volunteers and midwives, working together to achieve our vision.
We know that in order to live our vision and mission, we need to refresh our values. Values offer a blueprint for decision-making, set the criteria for performance, help attract and retain the best people and describe what attributes and behaviours are most important to the organization.
AHS’ senior leaders proposed six values. They encompass the previous values and include additional ones. Before we finalize refreshed values for AHS, I’m interested in knowing how these six values resonate with you. I invite you to listen to my podcast and post your comments below.
Are we living these values now or do we have lots of work to do? If we have work to do, what would you like to see us focus on? Is there something that’s missing?
Thanks in advance for your participation.
