Complex Pediatric Therapies Developmental Assessment Clinic

The Complex Pediatric Therapies Developmental Assessment Clinic (CPTDAC) at Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital provides specialized developmental assessments, monitoring, and family support for children who have received complex and life-saving hospital care in an intensive care unit at the Stollery Children's Hospital.

Our team provides guidance in areas such as early developmental milestones, school readiness, and learning needs. Children are typically seen 4-8 months after their treatment  or surgery, again at 18-24 months, and between 4-5 years of age. Each visit is individualized to the child's age and developmental stage, involving an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals who support the child's growth, well-being, and family's ongoing care journey. Our team includes pediatricians, nurses, an audiologist, psychologist, dietician, occupational therapist, physical therapist, social worker, speech language pathologist, and a health information management professional.
Our program at the Glenrose is affiliated with partner locations in Calgary, Alberta at the Alberta Children's Hospital, and in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the Specialized Services for Children and Youth Centre. These clinics are part of the Complex Pediatric Therapies Follow-Up Program (CPTFP), an interprovincial initiative dedicated to understanding and supporting the developmental needs of children following advanced medical therapies.
