Location: Chinook Regional Hospital
In-home, intensive therapy (1 1/2 - 3 hours daily) offered to mild-moderate stroke and brain injury survivors to assist them in their recovery immediately after their event, hospitalization and/or when at risk of requiring increased care needs. Community rehabilitation is reserved strictly for stroke survivors who cannot tolerate daily intensive rehabilitation while early supported discharge is available for both stroke (up to 3 hours per weekday) and brain injury survivors (3-5 times per week).Clients set their own recovery goals with help from the team. Services can last up to 8 weeks for stroke programs and up to 12 weeks for brain injury rehabilitation, depending upon client goals. Therapists help clients overcome challenges, return to daily activities, and connect with community or outpatient services when needed.

An estimated wait time will be provided at the time of appointment booking. Generally ESD program referrals are seen within 1-3 days post discharge from hospital or receipt of referral. CR referrals may have a brief wait period (1-2 weeks) depending upon current ESD caseload.
