Addiction and Mental Health - Post Secondary Institute Mental Health Services

Provides outpatient assessment, treatment, and follow-up for post-secondary students experiencing mental health concerns.

Generalist clinician works with students to develop collaborative goals and treatment plans. 
Services may include:

  • short to moderate term (typically 6-8 sessions) goal-oriented outpatient mental health therapy
  • on-campus services available at Medicine Hat College
  • collaboration with physician, academic advisors, student peers, and mental health services team
  • referrals to psychoeducational and skill-based mental health therapy groups at adult addiction and mental health clinic
  • referrals to other community resources and programs

Eligibility

Must be enrolled or recently enrolled (within last 1 year) in a post-secondary instituition in South Zone.attending post-secondary school. Clients must present with moderate to severe mental health concerns.

  • Adults 18 years or older
  • Valid Alberta Health Care Card and Government Issued Photo ID
