Programs & Services

Pre-admission Clinic

Assessment, education and optimization of patients before their surgery.

Approximately one week prior to surgery, this service:

  • checks blood pressure, pulse, height & weight for in person visits
  • arranges any tests surgeon has ordered (e.g. blood tests, urinalysis, x-rays, etc.)
  • gives pre-surgery and discharge instructions
  • answers patient questions
  • offers a teaching video if available

The visit usually takes 30 to 60 minutes.

Assessments may be done in person or by phone at the request of the surgeon, when the patient meets criteria for a phone assessment and when the completed admission database comes to PAC with the paperwork.
