Pediatric Cochlear Implant Service

Provides cochlear implant assessment and follow up for pediatric patients.

Assessment and rehabilitation services are provided by a multidisciplinary team which may include audiology, speech-language pathology, social work and psychology. An otolaryngologist and pediatrician are available for consultation.

Eligibility

Ages 0 to 17 years - 11 months.

Referral Needed
  • Referrals including an audiogram is required when referring for cochlear implant assessment
  • Referrals for cochlear implant assessment accepted from audiologists and otolaryngologists
  • Referrals for a cochlear implant in place is accepted from physicians, audiologists, speech pathologists
Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

When a referral is received the client will be called or emailed an appointment.
