Pediatric Liver Transplant Follow-up Services - Southern Alberta Transplant Program

Provides follow-up for children living south of Red Deer who have had a liver transplant.

Follow-up medical care for children living south of Red Deer who have had a liver transplant. Liver transplants are done at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton.

Access
Service Providers May Include
dieticians, gastroenterologists, licensed practical nurses (LPNs), medical office assistances, registered nurses (RNs), psychologists, social workers
Eligibility

Children 0 to 17 years old. Patients over 17 years may be referred to an adult program

Referral Needed

A doctor's referral is needed.

Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

New Referrals for patients requiring pre-transplant care should be referred to the Gastrointestinal Central Access and Triage for Triage of their referral. New patients are referred from the GI clinic.
