Health Link 811

Health Link 811 is a free, 24 / 7 telephone service that provides health advice and health information to Albertans.

Through a comprehensive range of clinical, navigation, and health information services, Health Link supports Albertans in accessing timely health advice, appropriate care, and system navigation. Services are available by calling 811, through live chat at 811 Health Link | Primary Care Alberta, and via companion platform including MyHealth.Alberta.ca and InformAlberta. All services are delivered through telephone and virtual platforms to ensure accessible and convenient support.

Services include:

  • Addiction and Mental Health
  • Alberta Find a Physician (AFAP) - connects with available primary care providers and clinics across the province
  • Alberta Healthy Living Program - Registration Service
  • AlbertaQuits Tobacco Helpline
  • Catch-A-Break Osteoporosis Screening
  • Central access to specialized services
  • Dementia Advice Service
  • Health system navigation to access appropriate services
  • Immunization and vaccines booking for all ages (including COVID-19 and influenza)
  • Indigenous Support Line
  • New Parent and Newborn Line
  • Referrals to clinical services, including dietitian services
  • Rehabilitation Advice (triage and community service navigation)
  • Symptom-based nurse triage and health information
  • Virtual MD based on eligibility
