Provides care to people who have been referred to an orthopedic surgeon for a hip or knee replacement.Provides a healthcare team approach to assess and treat people who need total joint replacement surgery. The first appointment may be with a musculoskeletal (MSK) specialist or an orthopedic surgeon. An MSK (musculoskeletal) specialist will determine whether you are a surgical candidate. If you are a surgical candidate, you will be placed back on the surgeon consultation waitlist in your original position If you are non-surgical, the MSK (musculoskeletal) specialist will provide you with recommendations to improve your pain and function The program will continue to follow your progress until after your surgery.
