Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic

 Location: South Health Campus

Service provides assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education for people who have a thickened heart muscle (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy).

The Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Clinic (HCM) is a Nurse Clinician directed clinic with multidisciplinary support dedicated to the management of patients with suspected or confirmed HCM. Plan of care includes interval clinical assessment and follow-up by a cardiologist. Services provided may include:

  • assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education for people who have hypertrophic cardiomyopathy
  • management of prescription medications
  • ongoing patient teaching
  • lifestyle recommendations
  • family screening teaching
  • coordination of necessary specialist referrals
