Balance Class

An exercise and education program to teach people about safe walking.

A group exercise and education program for people to improve their walking skills. The program format is 60 minute classes, two times a week for 4 weeks. Educational material is reviewed and exercises are taught and practiced in a group session.

Eligibility

To take part in the program, clients must:

  • be able to take part in the program by themselves or with the help of a caregiver
  • have had 1 or more falls in the last 6 months or had a healthcare provider say they are at a high risk for a fall
Service Access

Clients can call to be screened for the program. An initial assessment is set up prior to start of the first class.

Bring walking or sensory aids and a list of medications to the first appointment.
