Time limited, goal directed therapy for clients presenting with primary mood or anxiety disorders.
Provides urgent, time limited, care for individuals experiencing mental health related concerns using evidence-based psychotherapeutic approaches to change.
To begin, a client undergoes a comprehensive psychiatric assessment by both a therapist and a psychiatrist. Clients must be willing to engage in change oriented therapy. Both individual and group therapies are available going forward based on the treatment plan. The number of sessions needed to make desired change(s) varies from person to person, however, patients will attend 6-10 sessions on average with a maximum of 20 sessions.
Referrals may be made to other Alberta Health Services and/or community services as needed.
