Adolescent Pregnancy Clinic

The Adolescent Pregnancy clinic is a multidisciplinary team that provides prenatal care to teenage girls in the Edmonton area.The clinic also offers birth control counselling and prescriptions.

Services include:

  • Help with decision making regarding your pregnancy and referrals to other resources if needed
  • prenatal visits (e.g. vitamins, check ups, counselling)
  • prenatal education and hospital tours
  • shared care with a doctor that delivers babies
  • care for the first 6 months after delivery
  • on-site blood collection
  • transportation support
  • interpreter services available if needed
  • birth control counselling and prescribing
  • sexually transmitted infection testing
  • arranging ultrasounds
  • referrals for support with housing, parenting, nutrition, substance use issues and family violence
  • free pregnancy tests
  • health for two services

The clinic include works as a team and includes:

  • a nurse practitioner that provides medical care
  • a social worker that provides resources and emotional support
  • a dietician who provides dietary education

Eligibility

Adolescents 20 years and under who are pregnant or think they may be pregnant or are interested in birth control counselling.

May self refer or may be referred from a another provider

You can make an appointment or come as a walk-in on Wednesdays and Thursdays between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.
