CCAIL provides assessment and authorization based on eligibility criteria set by the Government's Alberta Aids to Daily Living (AADL) program for compression stockings and hernia support. Lower extremity assessment is for clients diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency and who do not have a diabetes diagnosis or a current wound.Following AADL eligibility criteria, AHS' Calgary Community Aids for Independent Living (CCAIL) team provides clinical assessment and funding authorization requests for compression stockings and hernia supports only.
As of October 1st, 2024, please refer to Calgary’s Integrated Home Care (IHC) team, via Community Care Access (CCA),for AADL authorization for the following basic medical equipment and supplies:
- mobility and transfer aids (e.g. walkers, wheelchairs, bedrails, poles)
- bathroom equipment (e.g. raised toilet seats, commodes, shower seats, wall bars)
- incontinence supplies (e.g. briefs, pull-ups, liners, catheters)
