Chronic Kidney Disease Clinic, Pediatric - Alberta Kidney Care - South

Provides care to young adults and children 17 years or less who have chronic kidney disease.

In this clinic a team of healthcare providers:

  • recognize and treat children who may be more likely to develop kidney disease (like children with major risk factors like high blood pressure, diabetes, and high cholesterol)
  • slow the disease in children who have developed chronic renal insufficiency (with the likelihood that kidneys are working at less than 50% of normal)
  • work to improve the health of children living with kidney disease and to reduce the number of children who die because of kidney disease
