Health Advisory Councils

 Location: Alberta Wide

Improves health by talking to people in different communities about how Alberta Health Services can provide high-quality healthcare for Albertans.

Enhances and develops partnerships between communities and Alberta Health Services (AHS). Each council is geographically-based with 10 to 15 volunteer members that are committed to their communities and the healthcare system.

Health Advisory Council members:

  • give feedback about what is working well in the healthcare system and suggest areas to improve
  • talk to people in communities about what is being said about healthcare services in their area
  • think about quality and safety reports from AHS and find issues or trends in certain areas
  • give feedback to AHS about healthcare services and delivery
