Osteoporosis Program

This education and exercise program is for people who have osteoporosis.(verified with bone density test)

Group sessions are led by a Physiotherapist and consists of lectures and light exercises. Topics include:

  • nutrition
  • medications used to treat osteoporosis
  • using exercise to manage osteoporosis, exercise safety
  • posture, back care and positioning
  • upper and lower body strengthening
  • balance and fall prevention
  • how to start a walking program

A refresher program is also available.

Classes are 2 hours and are offered once weekly for 7 weeks. Times of classes may vary and change; you will be offered available class times at time of booking.

Classes are held in the fall and spring. Call for information.

For people  diagnosed with Osteoporosis.

Service Access

You can self-refer. You must supply a copy of your bone density test.

Your name is placed on a waiting list. Classes are run in the fall and spring. You will be contacted when there is a class opening.
