Edmonton Youth Stabilization Program

The Youth Stabilization Program is a 10 day voluntary psychosocial stabilization and detoxification program for youth with harmful involvement in substance use and/or experiencing challenging mental health concerns. The Program is a group treatment model focusing on stabilizing youth, completing a comprehensive assessment, constructing a treatment plan and planning transition to further services.

Program Details:

  • Supports youth aged 12-18 years old
  • Is a 4 bed unit • Located at the Alberta Hospital Edmonton (AHE).
  • Youth and their families are actively engaged in individual, group, and leisure activities.
  • Referrals can be made for family counselling as needed.
  • Youth are supported to engage in assessment and psychoeducational and process groups which facilitate next steps in treatment planning and support options.

Youth 12-18 years of age.

Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

Referrals can be submitted from any AHS Outpatient Addiction Counsellor, using the referral form associated with our sites. Completed referrals can be emailed to our Intake Coordinator.
