Neonatal Intensive Care Program (NICU)

Highly specialized unit with advanced medical technology which provides comprehensive 24 hour care for critically ill newborns and their families.

The Stollery David Schiff NICU, at the Walter C. Mackenzie Health Sciences Centre campus, is an 18 bed NICU that provides surgical care to newborn babies.

The Stollery RAH NICU, located at the Royal Alexandra Hospital (RAH) is a 69 bed unit that specializes in the care of very premature infants.

Newborns in need of stabilization or urgent diagnosis and care may be transferred to NICU via the NICU Transport Team (ground or air transport).
