GLA:D Canada in Alberta

GLA:D® is a group exercise and educational program developed in Denmark for people with symptoms of knee or hip osteoarthritis (OA).

GLA:D® is an eight-week program offered in a group setting with other Albertans living with osteoarthritis (OA). There are two education sessions followed by 12 supervised exercise sessions (twice / week).

The program is designed to teach Albertans about OA with an aim to reduce symptoms through a targeted exercises program. The program roll-out is led by the Bone and Joint Health Strategic Clinical Network (BJH SCN).

Some service locations may be offered by a contracted service provider and may have a cost for the service. Call the specific service location for more information regarding cost and specific program details.

Eligibility

Patients must have a confirmed diagnosis of osteoarthritis in their knee(s) / hip(s).

A trained GLA:D® provider can also provide this diagnosis. An x-ray is not required.
