Heart and Minds Clinic

Services offered to patients with heart disease who have mental health conditions. It provides psychiatric consultation, treatment recommendations and access to ongoing mental health care as needed.

This is a service for patients with heart disease needing assessment and / or term treatment for mental health conditions. Patients are referred by their cardiac treatment team. The service is led by a psychiatrist who will make treatment recommendations. This can include continuing to see the patient, asking the patient's family physician to start treatment, and / or referring to other specialized mental health services such as psychotherapy.
