Family Connections is an evidence based, skills training program for friends and family members supporting loved ones struggling with mental illness. The program is based on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and is designed specifically for family members and friends of those struggling with emotional dysregulation (intense feelings of sadness, shame, anger, anxiety, impulsivity, mood swings and / or suicidal ideation). Participants learn practical coping and communication skills to help them regain balance in their lives and manage emotional reactions to challenging situations more effectively. Family Connections is delivered by trained peer facilitators who have “lived experience” using these skills in their own families.
Thre is no registration fee. Participants can take the program as many times as they want or need to.
