Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

Assessment and treatment for pediatric patients with complex neurological or musculoskeletal rehabilitation needs and system navigation needs requiring physician and nursing and / or physiotherapy (PT) and / or occupational therapy (OT) services.

Our role is to provide complex assessment and care facilitation, which may include subsequent referrals to other services for active / ongoing treatment. Additionally, we provide surveillance of ongoing functional needs and / or changes.

This clinic includes two streams:

  • a PT / OT stream which provides functional assessment and support with system navigation. PT / OT screen medical needs and can consult additional disciplines, as appropriate
  • a physiatry (MD) / RN stream which provides complex assessment of medical needs and system navigation. Physiatry (MD) / RN screen functional needs and can consult additional disciplines, as appropriate

Only one referral is needed. Each referral is triaged to one of these streams, dependent on need. However, all accepted referrals will have consultative access to all four disciplines, as needed.
