The Preschool Mental Health Program will help support parents and caregivers to help understand and meet the social emotional needs of their child(ren).Services offers: Screening and assessment tools to identify current strengths and areas of need relating to social and emotional development Support and information sharing to increase parent / caregiver knowledge, skills and confidence about their child’s mental health Coaching and modelling parent-child interaction to encourage the child’s positive relationships, self-calming and emotional awareness Coordinating referrals & mental health resources and supporting effective transitions to other services when necessary Support to implement recommendations of mental health therapists and specialists into daily routines and relationships Support can be offered to community professionals to increase their knowledge regarding social emotional development (eg. ASQSE training) This service is provided by Alberta Health Services and Alberta Health Services contracted service providers.
