Lumbar Puncture Clinic

This clinic is provided as a means of determining a diagnosis (ruling in or out).

This is a procedure clinic for a lumbar puncture. The patient will be educated, consent form signed and then will change into gown. The physician will collect a specimen of cerebrospinal (CSF) fluid from the lower back area, with the assistance of clinic staff. The physician will follow up with results at a later date. The patient will be assessed and cared for until discharge. Post procedure care and instructions will be provided.
