Location: Edmonton 106th Street Clinic
This is a complementary service to support clients with severe and / or treatment refractory addiction presentations requiring assessment and treatment initiation from an addiction medicine specialist. This program is through physician / health professional referral and requires a primary care provider who is able to continue the treatment plan once the client is stabilized. Consultation and short-term intervention timelines are typically from 3 to 6 months, with regular liaising with current existing treatment team. Psychosocial team supports are available through our Addiction Counsellor, Mental Health Therapists, Social Workers and Peer Support Workers. Services include: Consultation and / or short-term intervention (3 - 6 months) Treatment of severe / complex Alcohol Use Disorder (not requiring medical detoxification) Interventions for Benzodiazepine Use Disorder requiring assessment and tapers Clinical advice to inpatient and community prescribers for recommended first-line interventions on a non-urgent basis
