Village Mental Health Counselling

Provides counselling services to individuals that have mental health concerns. Specializing in trauma treatment for mental health issues.

Counselling for individuals or a family member that have mental health concerns that interfere with day-to-day living. This may include the following:

  • anxiety
  • addiction (offers counselling for addiction related mental health issues)
  • depression
  • posttraumatic stress
  • trauma

Counselling includes:

  • assessment
  • stabilization
  • treatment
  • relapse prevention
  • building resilience

Treatments include:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) - treatment involves efforts to change thinking patterns.
  • Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) - a treatment to assist the client in developing a vision of a more satisfying future.
  • Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)- an evidence based treatment that is structured form of individual therapy. It uses eye movements and visualization techniques. These rewrite negative or traumatic experiences with positive images and sensations so they no longer trigger strong emotional reactions.

Fees

Fees are a based on a sliding scale according to income. Direct billing available for RCMP and Veterans. Contact for more information.
