Coast Kids

Outreach service for neurodiverse children and youth being discharged from inpatient mental health care. The team provides stabilization and transitional support for mental health from a multidisciplinary team.

COAST Kids share the mission of the Child and Adolescent Addiction, Mental Health and Psychiatry Program and work together with other services to build an environment that creates optimum mental health and wellbeing for neurodiverse children, adolescents and their families and caregivers. We provide outreach, community-based mental health services for children, adolescents and families who have a neurodivergent diagnosis, including autism, Asperger’s, significant ADHD, and others. The population we serve consists of children and adolescents aged 5 to 17 years and their families / caregivers.

The program will offer transitional support for families and youth being discharged from child and youth inpatient mental health care in order to support families and youth in transferring recommendations into the home. This may include teaching families, including siblings, how to use resources, supporting families in accessing resources, finding suppliers of resources, and other related activities.
