Clinical Psychology Service - Calgary Epilepsy Program

Short term psychology consultation (up to 6 months) and / or intervention (individual and group) for seizure-related mental health issues.

Services offered include:

  • consultation / assessment
  • psychoeducation
  • short term treatment (up to 6 months or approximately 12 sessions)
  • adjustment challenges, including anxiety and mood concerns, related to a diagnosis of epilepsy, Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) with attacks or seizures

Eligibility

Patients being followed by a practitioner within the Adult section of the Calgary Epilepsy Program are eligible. 

Referral Needed

See Alberta Referral Directory - we only accept referrals from practitioners who work with the Adult section of the Calgary Epilepsy Program.

Service Access

Healthcare providers should consult the Alberta Referral Directory for service referral information.

This service is by appointment only. We do not assume care for clients' longstanding mental health issues. For clients with longstanding or pre-existing mental health issues a self-referral to Access Mental Health is a requirement to be placed and / or remain on the waiting list.

Current waiting period is approximately 8-10 months.
