Public Health - Central Access and Triage (CAT)

 Location: South Zone and Area

This central access referral service provides a single point of entry for patients who want to access the Public Health program in South Zone. This includes the Public Health, Postpartum, and Better Beginnings departments.

Provides a wide range of health services in the areas of health promotion, disease prevention, and health protection.

Public Health services:

  • Routine immunizations across the lifespan, including Well Child Clinic (2 months to preschool), school age, and adults.
  • Non-routine immunizations for clients with special immunization needs.
  • Prenatal and Postnatal education.

Postpartum services:

  • Newborn and postpartum caregiver support up to 2 months postpartum.
  • Breastfeeding/Infant feeding support from birth to weaning.

Better Beginnings program:

  • Free, non-judgemental, supportive health service for pregnant or parenting women living in Southwest Alberta.
