Stollery Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Transport Team

The neonatal critical care transport team at Stollery Children¿s Hospital provides round-the-clock neonatal transport and consultation services for Alberta, north of Red Deer, and the Northwest Territories. This team also offers reciprocal coverage during high-demand periods within Alberta and occasionally assists neighboring provinces and territories.

The neonatal critical care transport team at Stollery Children’s Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta, offers 24 / 7 neonatal transport and consultation services for northern Alberta and the Northwest Territories. Staffed with specialized neonatal nurses and respiratory therapists, two transport teams operate around the clock, with the capability of deploying up to three teams, depending on staffing and equipment. The teams work under the direction of a medical control physician, usually a transport neonatologist. These teams are based at the University of Alberta and Royal Alexandra Hospital.
