CHOICE Home Care

CHOICE Home Care is a virtual department for AHS CHOICE case managers.

CHOICE - Comprehensive Home Option of Integrated Care for the Elderly is a unique community-based program funded by Alberta Health Services and operated by the Capital Care Group and the Good Samaritan Society.

The goal of CHOICE is to keep older people healthy and living at home by providing coordinated personal and care services. Services are provided at one of the CHOICE Day Centers by a team of professionals.

Clients come to one of the CHOICE Day Centers on average one to two times a week where they can receive the following:

  • medical monitoring and treatment by CHOICE physicians and nurses
  • medications dispensed by the CHOICE pharmacy
  • physical and occupational therapy
  • social work and pastoral care services
  • recreation and social activities
  • personal assistance with daily tasks, as needed
  • health and wellness education
