The Rapid Response Team (RAP) provides 24 / 7 support to the pediatric inpatient units and outpatient clinics of the Stollery Children's Hospital for early detection, assessment, and treatment of deteriorating children.

The Rapid Response Team (RAP) provides 24 / 7 support to the pediatric inpatient units and outpatient clinics for early detection, assessment and treatment of deteriorating children. The RAP Team is comprised of one Pediatric Critical Care Transport Nurse and one Pediatric Critical Care Transport Respiratory Therapist (in consultation with a Pediatric Critical Care Intensivist or designate) that is dedicated to RAP calls and follow-ups.

The RAP Team helps close the gap between the Pediatric Inpatient and Intensive Care Unit, creating a more cohesive patient care environment and easing the transition between units. The team will bring their expertise and extended scope of practice to help support and in working with families and staff, determine the patient/child’s next best course of action.
