STEP Team - Support Team for Emergency Prevention

The STEP Team is an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) outreach team at the Alberta Children's Hospital (ACH) providing support to the ACH inpatient units and outpatient clinics for early detection, assessment and treatment of children who are getting sicker, despite the treatment they are receiving.

The team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They will examine your child, talk to you and your child's doctor and nurse, and together come up with a plan. STEP also provides follow up visits to all children transferred out of the ICU to another unit at ACH and for some children transferred from the emergency department.
