Adult Virtual Rehabilitation

 Location: Alberta Wide

The Adult Virtual Rehabilitation program offers Albertans with energy-limiting medical conditions that are accompanied by functional limitations, an opportunity to participate in rehabilitation services led by clinicians in a virtual environment.

These live, group (Zoom) sessions will help patients learn how to enhance function for meaningful living and prevent illness and further disability.

Topics include:

  • Energy Maximization: Discuss factors that impact your energy, and strategies to make the most out of the energy you have
  • Mindfulness / Self-Compassion: Learn practical skills to respond to difficult emotions with kindness and compassion
  • Sleep Management: Explore tools to identify your current quality of sleep, identify your sleep hygiene habits and reflect on areas of sleep hygiene that you can improve
  • Grief and Loss: Living with an energy-limiting illness brings a multitude of changes to your physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Here we will provide acknowledgement and explore strategies to help you manage these impacts
  • Brain Fog: Discuss the symptoms of brain fog and its functional impact. We will explore different strategies to manage the impact and provide opportunity for discussion and reflection on implementing these strategies
  • Intimacy: Changes in our health status or energy levels may impact the way we participate in intimacy. In this session, we address strategies, tips and tricks to be successful with all types of intimacy
