Speech Language Pathology - School Services

Provides speech and language assessment and treatment for school age children.

Services include help with:

  • forming ideas into words
  • speech sounds
  • language
  • voice
  • speaking easily and smoothly

The service works with the child, family and the school. Most services are offered in the school, but some services are offered in the community.

speech-language pathologists, speech-language pathology assistants
Eligibility

Students in grade 1 – 12:

  • attending schools within: Calgary Board of Education, Calgary Catholic School District, Rocky View Schools, Palliser Schools, Independent / Charter Schools and Francophone School Boards
  • who are home schooled
  • elementary school age students can access all of the services
  • junior or senior high school students can access some of the services including assessment and one consultation meeting
Service Access

Students are referred by their school with parent and teacher input. Parents who home schooled can self-refer.


Wait Times

Waiting time varies from 4 - 12 months.
