Carnat Centre Services

Day treatment program offering recovery oriented, psychosocial rehabilitation to individuals experiencing severe and complex psychotic disorders, which may include co-occurring addiction.

A day treatment program providing care to clients who have significantly impaired functioning requiring a higher degree and frequency of support than what a Level III Clinic can offer. These individuals have been determined to have the capacity to participate in skills based groups and have had a period of stabilization prior to referring. Program provides psychosocial rehabilitation utilizing a skills building approach. Services provided include:

 

  • time limited, goal focused, recovery-oriented psychosocial rehabilitation / skills training
  • clinical consultation, assessment, recommendations and follow up
  • group therapy
  • social skills instruction, modelling and feedback
  • community resource orientation, introduction, and connection to resources
  • recreational therapy assessments and intervention
  • life skills, communication and emotional awareness training
  • case management
  • medication management and education
  • Clozapine / Depot Clinic
  • peer support
  • Independent Living Support (ILS)
  • psychoeducation
  • occupational therapy assessments and intervention
  • psychiatric consultation and treatment
  • family support and education

Getting There

The Sunridge Medical Gallery is accessible from the exterior of Sunridge Mall only. The entrance is on the west side. AHS doors are marked and located left of the entrance to Carter’s/OshKosh.

Service Providers May Include
occupational therapists (OTs), peer support workers (PSWs), psychiatrists, recreational therapists (RTs), registered nurses (RNs), registered psychiatric nurses (RPNs), social workers (SWs)
Eligibility
  • primary diagnosis of psychosis.
  • 18+ years of age; AND
  • functionally able to participate in daytime outpatient service; AND
  • has capacity for rehabilitation, however, they need not be immediately ready to engage in rehabilitative programming.
  • LOCUS score of 4 or greater
